The fundamental goal of the course is to acquire the knowledge to interpret time-lapse seismic data and related signal processing flow, which help us to infer the 4D changes occurring in the subsurface due to artificial activities such as hydrocarbon development and production or carbon dioxide injection. The class material covers 1) time-lapse data acquisition, and 2) related data processing with 3) interpretation techniques to analyze the change of rock properties and fluid saturation over time. The course deals with both theory of 4D analysis and its practical applications to field data examples. The course prerequisites are 1) fundamentals of rock physics, and 2) seismic data analysis.
